Armored Core 2 passion project

Made in Blender, this is a project close to my gaming heart, the Playstation game 'Armored Core 2' always captured my imagination, so to be able to construct the 'AC' today from the cover art is amazing.

I spent time modelling the components both from observation and with direct reference. I did my best to walk a line between keeping true to the original design and allowing for some freedom of design as I was working on image capture reference from the game.

I haven't specifically made this to be a game asset, but just made clean geometry so it was easy to work with and functioned well when animating.

Fans of the game will know that the left arm attachment is a laser sword in game, but in the intro video it's a shield - things like this I simply made personal decisions, which I hope people can appreciate.

I'm a fan of working with procedural materials. I wanted to add some wear and tear and other details that weren't present in the original game.

This started as a mid term project, where my goal was to get the AC model and shaded and have some cameras orbiting whilst the AC remained static.

I have recently passed this milestone and have pursued rigging the AC. I now have much broader options available for me to pursue animation wise.

I plan to make some very short videos, and slowly pursue some inspired from the original intro video.
